St. Paul Catholic School 2017
On May 17th, Dr. Lezotte and Dr. Stefanie Behnke visited St. Paul Catholic School in Grosse Pointe Farms where they administered hearing screenings to kindergarteners. Early detection of hearing loss is essential for normal speech and social development. If you think your child has a hearing loss, please call our office to schedule an appointment with one of our Doctors of Audiology.

Services for Older Citizens 2017
On May 16th, Dr. Alan Sutherland spoke to a group of individuals at Services for Older Citizens in Grosse Pointe Farms. The presentation included types and causes of hearing loss, side effect of untreated hearing loss as well as current hearing aid technology. Bluetooth devices and assistive technology for the hearing impaired such as amplified telephones and television devices were also mentioned. Oticon Conference 2015
At the end of February, Dr. Lezotte & Dr. Sommerville attended a three day conference in Orlando. The conference, “A Revolution for the Senses,” encompassed Oticon’s new Brain Technology. Oticon also introduced the newest product line of hearing aids.

AAA Conference 2014
Dr. Lezotte and Dr. Sommerville attended the American Academy of Audiology conference in Orlando from 3/26/14-3/29/14. The four day event included hands-on workshops, speakers and information on the latest technology from top manufacturers such as Siemens, Oticon, Widex and Resound.

Lyric 2
Lyric 2 is here! On 12/4/12 & 12/5/12, Dr. Lezotte & Dr. Sommerville traveled to Chicago, IL to receive training on the new Lyric 2. Lyric 2 can now fit 75% of ears! The overall size is significantly smaller, 4mm less than Lyric 1 and fits a wider range of ears.

Siemens Conference 2012
Anxious to learn more, Dr. Sommerville attended yet another training conference, this time in downtown Detroit, November 15th. This one day event centered around the new Siemens Micon technology.

ADA Conference 2012
On November 8th – 10th, Dr. Sommerville traveled to the ADA Conference (Academy of Doctors of Audiology) in Phoenix AZ. At this three day event Dr. Sommerville attended various workshops pertaining to the latest technology and new releases in the field.

Kids on the Go
On November 9, 2012, Dr. Lezotte, Michelle and Cheryl attended the Cheers for Children Charity Gala held at the beautiful Detroit Athletic Club. The Gala benefitted Kids on the Go, a summer day camp that provides speech, occupational and physical therapy services to children with special needs in the Metro Detroit are, at no cost to their families

Senior Expo 2012
On October 11, 2012 Grosse Pointe Audiology was represented at the 19th annual Assumption Senior Expo located at The Assumption Cultural Center in Grosse Pointe Woods. The morning started off with over 45 exhibitors on display in the gymnasium where individuals were able to pick up informational materials, learn more about what each business had to offer and even enter raffles. We would like to thank anyone who may have stopped by to visit our table, inquired about our products and services, entered our raffle, or spoke with Dr. Sommerville and Michelle.

doll Kid’s Corner
The next time you stop in the office be sure to check out our new Kid’s Corner!! It is complete with numerous, child friendly books related to hearing testing, hearing aids, FM systems, earmolds, cleaning & maintenance and helpful tips. Alongside the books proudly stands a beautiful American Girl doll fitted with two removable pink hearing aids. If you know of an 18” American Girl doll with a hearing loss, she will need to be admitted to the American Girl Doll Hospital where she will be expertly fit with her new custom hearing aids. The cost for two hearing aids is just $14.

Recently Dr. Lezotte attended the American Academy of Audiology conference in Boston. The four day event included hands-on workshops, speakers and information on the latest technology. Over 4,000 Audiologists were in attendance!



Grosse Pointe Magazine
If you haven't had an opportunity to read the recent article, State of The Art, featured in the February-March 2012 Grosse Pointe Magazine, just click on the underlined link. In the article, three patients at Grosse Pointe Audiology rave about the benefits of Bluetooth technology and hearing aids available today. With Bluetooth technology, hearing aid wearers can now talk on their cell phone hands free, listen to the television at their own volume, communicate with a spouse from across the room, & even pair them up with computers and ipods. Barnes Early Childhood Development
On January 20, 2012, Dr. Lezotte was invited to speak to a receptive group of parents who had children between the ages of 20-30 months old. She discussed ear infections, the importance of treatment, and their affects on hearing and language development. Detroit Federation of Teachers Retirees
On January 17, 2012, Dr. Sommerville welcomed the opportunity to speak to a group of 90 retired school teachers in Detroit. The informative lecture included topics such as: types and symptoms of hearing loss, causes of hearing loss, wax removal and insurance coverage. She also discussed new technology available today such as digital hearing aids, amplified telephones and Blue Tooth TV devices. SOC International Taste Fest
On April 19, 2011, the Services for Older Citizens in Grosse Pointe hosted their first annual International Taste Fest! SOC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping seniors of the Grosse Pointes and Harper Woods maintain their lives in independence and dignity. Grosse Pointe Audiology, representing Greece, gladly took part in this fun filled afternoon which allowed local businesses to promote their business while seniors sampled various foods and beverages from over 30 different "countries." The Women's Connection of Grosse Pointe
On January 27, 2011, Dr. Lezotte spoke to The Women's Connection of Grosse Pointe. The Women's Connection of Grosse Pointe is a women's networking and support organization dedicated to the enrichment and empowerment of women in their business and personal lives. Some of the topics that Dr. Lezotte hightlighted in her talk included types and causes of hearing loss as well as the different technology availabe to help with hearing loss. Chamber of Commerce Business Expo
For those of you who stopped by our table at the Chamber of Commerce Business Expo on November 30, 2010 at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial, thank you! It was a well attended event which highlighted numerous businesses here in Grosse Pointe! To cap off the evening, we were fortunate enough to hear from Mary Kramer, the vice president/publisher at Crain's Detroit Business. Hope to see more of you there next year!
